Take a big bowl of Puffed rice. To make the crunchy Puffed rice chivda, use fresh Puffed rice. Sometimes in the rainy season because of the climate puffed rice becomes soggy. At this time just dry roast the puffed rice for some time.
Take green chilies and garlic cloves and chop them finely.
Keep a kadhai/Karahi (bowl shaped frying pan similar to wok) on a stove and pour oil in it. Put finely chopped garlic in oil and fry it in slightly hot oil.
Once the garlic gets fried, put chopped green chilies to it and fry it nicely.
Put peanuts, fried gram and curry leaves to it and fry till the curry leaves become crispy.
Then add Asafoetida (Also called as Hing in Hindi), Red chili powder and Turmeric powder to it.
Add Puffed rice in the kadhai/Karahi and immediately add salt and sugar to it.
Mix all ingredients properly on low heat till color changes to reddish. Do not fry on high flame otherwise, the taste will not be good.
Your Puffed rice chivda is now ready.
Store it in an airtight box and munch it whenever you are hungry.

1.You can add Finely chopped onion, tomato, and coriander and add some lemon juice to the chivda while serving.
2.If you like sour taste, you can add some citric powder while preparing the chivda.
